I took the time to actually take a breather not really doing much reading or anything but just relaxing. For those who may have been reading my post on a regular my apologizes a white rose is offered as a piece offering SMILE.  Coming soon I have a four book review on the Hollington Reunion series coming from Harlequin featuring Sandra Kitt, Jacquline Thomas, Pamela Yaye, & Adrianne Byrd.  I am also now a reviewer for another group more news to come soon on that.  But I wish you all a beautiful holiday and look forward to seeing and hearing from everyone in 2010.

Campaign for Seduction Rating 5

Gamble 4 Luv

Ann Christopher delivers a hot stopper. Campaign for Seduction was sizzling hot amber of a book that kept my attention from beginning to end.

Liza Wilson has had a fail marriage but has become a successful journalist now that she has a chance to clinch the spotlight she refuses to allow anything to stop her until she meets Senator Jonathan Warner who is also running for president. Liza has other ideas in her mind when the sparks between the flow. Senator Jonathan Warner has found himself in a situation where he is behind in the polls and in love with a journalist who he thought did not know he existed unless it dealt with a personal interview. Jonathan knew he had to have Liza but the question became would she give up her career for him or would a scandal end both of their careers. John is determined to have his way to win it all from his personal life to his professional life and he goes the limit to make it happen.

I can’t wait to go back and check out the first book of the Warner family but one thing I would love for Ann to answer is… will Jillian get her own book?

Love  Bug

Pamela Yaye takes on the sports industry from the standpoint of the business world and a businesswoman who is determine to make a name for herself but not before love hits her and makes her reevaluate life.

Sage Collins is a junior agent at a exclusive sports agency who is determined to get her hands on the next big sports star to get the promotion and raise she feels she so rightfully deserves but how far will she go to get the deal. Sage has never been one to back down from a challenge but when she meets the father of her next big superstar, she finds herself putting her street smarts into practice to get close. Marshall Grant has been doing everything in his power to get it into his child’s mind that his college education is important and not some draft to play sports while making sure any agent who approaches him is intimidated or shown the door being told that Khari Grant is not signing with anyone. When Sage finds herself, need deep in lies and in love with the father of her client who could make or break her, she finds herself having a deep moment of what is right and what is wrong. Khari & Sage hit it off making it even harder for her to do what it takes to sign the deal but unknowingly to Marshall and Sage love had overtaken everything but how much can love over come lies and deceit.

While the book was, a fast pace it seemed to slow back down in the middle but pick up again towards the end but nonetheless Pamela has always been an author who has known how to mix sports and romance stories together. While this book is not exactly what I, am use to from Mrs. Yaye it was a great read about a single father who would go the limits to ensure his son’s education & future. I look forward to reading more from Mrs. Yate in the coming future.

Wrong Dress, Right Man (Rating 3)

Mac & Cinammon

Mac & Cinammon

Shirley Hailstock writes a comedic story about a man and woman who swear against relationships due to past relationships however, fate has a different idea.

Cinnamon Scott has realized that she has wasted her time in Boston because no one seems to take her serious therefore; she worries about making moves in her career so when her grandmother passes and leaves her a home she is presented a opportunity. However, her fresh start was not a smooth transition as she thought especially after a dress shows up at her house that is not hers.

Mackenzie Grier is deadest against weddings ever since he was jilted at his own wedding. Mac as he is affectionately known seems to have been invited to every wedding in the town. Mac sister Allison is getting married and is running him raged but when Allison’s dress ends up at Cinnamon’s home, which happens to be a place he had stayed when he needed solitude.

As Cinnamon’s story gets out Mac finds himself more intrigued as well as curious about her but when the charade of a wedding surrounding Cinnamon’s wedding gets out there Mac finds himself attempting to protect her but they find theirs eves linked to the point people assume they are getting married all because of a ring. While this story started with a comedic flare the book seem to lose its flow by chapter four and it did not pick back up until towards the last four chapters. While the male character was perfectly described, the author fails to describe the female. Mrs. Hailstock is a favorite author of mine and I cannot wait for her next work.

Rochelle Alers returns with her thirteenth Hideaway book bringing us a glimpse into the lives of the children of the men & women we fell in love with a decade or more ago.

Diego Cole-Thomas is his grand papa’s twin when it comes to running a business not only is he intimidating to many but he’s a private man who goes after what he wants and doesn’t stop till he gets it. Diego has been on the search for an assistant who can balance his life and business life but with a few stipulations so when he meets Vivienne Kay Neal he is at awe with the woman presented to him because he realizes she does not fear him, which only makes him respect her more.

Vivienne had been at odds with herself when her husband had been killed but she also knew that her marriage had been over way before it could really start. Playing the grieving widow had driven her nuts leaving her to find exile away from it all. However when she finds herself going toe to toe with Diego she refuses to become an arm ornament and she pushes his buttons to get responses to see what worked and what got what.

Diego & Vivienne cross the line of employee and employer taking an office relationship to a completely new level. Rochelle does an excellent job of allowing Diego & Vivienne playing alpha characters without taking away from the book.

I cannot wait for book number fourteen. Who will it be?

Come Back To Me “An Erotic Short Story” by Kimberly Kaye Terry

Kimberly K Terry has been known for her erotic interracial novels and this time is not any different with the exception that she is ventured into the short stories. She still brings the exciting sexual scenes with an enough in between information that you do not feel that you are getting a straight fuck scene instead your getting a small part of a story that pulls the story together in a manner that questions are answered within the few pages of the story.

Cole’s Red Hot Pursuit by Brenda Jackson

June 2008

Cole Red Hot Pursuit

Brenda Jackson

Silhouette Desire

ISBN: 978-1-4268-1797-7

Rating: 2.5

Unknown Passion

Cole Red Hot Pursuit is a passionate and erotic full novel with a family feel as well as two very passionate characters.

Cole Westermoreland was a man who was nothing but a confirmed bachelor his passion was pleasing women and nothing more. When he finds himself face to face with Patricia Foreman after she saves his life after a snowstorm causes him to have an accident he knows he wants Patricia in the most intimate way ever. Patricia Foreman has a thing against lawman due to her late husband but she had never met a man who shows more persistence then Cole. She finds herself intrigued with the way he causes his body to respond to hers but she also finds herself falling in love when she does not want to.

Brenda Jackson writes strong passionate pieces however, the story line feels like a repeat from her other novels as well as it was rushed. In this novel, Cole pushes and pushes until he finally gets Patricia to do what he wants while I enjoy a strong determined man it is as if he comes off as controlling which is not a passionate or romantic feature. Many readers are use to reading romance novels and thinking of that perfect man while looks, wealth, and sexuality that are what Cole brings to the table it just seems his character simply lacked a part of that romance formula.
